The Oswego State women's basketball team defeated Alvernia 73-56 on Saturday morning at the Marymount Tip-Off Tournament in Arlington, Va.

Samantha Driscoll led the Lakers with 17 points, Sarah Lombard had 14 and Lyndsey Marquit had 11 for the Lakers. The Lakers made 23-of-30 free-throw attempts in the game, while Alvernia made 12, in just 14 attempts.

The Lakers are now 1-1 on the season, and will conclude tournament play in the fourth-place game on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. against Gettysburg.
