Lakers pull away in second half for win over SUNYIT

The Oswego State women's basketball team stretched its winning streak to four games with an 87-55 win over SUNYIT on Saturday at Oswego. The Lakers are now 5-2 on the year and are 2-0 in the SUNYAC.

Senior guard Kelly Mraz scored 19 points in the game, and dished out seven assists to lead the Lakers. Mraz made three 3-pointers in five attempts from behind the arc. Jessica Tremblay added 12 points and Jessica Collins scored 10 for the Lakers. Twelve Laker players had at least one field goal in the game.

Mraz now has 992 career points, and with eight more will become just the sixth player in the program's history to reach the 1,000 point mark.

The Lakers held a 47-25 rebounding edge in the contest and blocked eight SUNYIT shots.

Stephanie Stokes scored 12 for the Wildcats (1-4, 0-2 SUNYAC) and Andrea Beach had 10.

Oswego State plays at Utica on Thursday.
