Senior Ahmad Mims made a statement in his final regular-season home game and led the Oswego State men's basketball team to an 87-50 win over visiting Oneonta on Saturday afternoon at Max Ziel Gymnasium.
Mims, a Syracuse native and graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School, had 26 points, 16 rebounds, two blocked shots and three dunks in the blowout win for Oswego State. Mims achieved a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds just 10:58 into the contest.
Todd Franze had 17 points for the Lakers on 7-for-7 field goal shooting. Mat Burridge had 13 points and Nick Perioli had 11 points and four assists. Oswego State led by as many as 39 points on several occasions throughout the second half. The Lakers had five dunks in the game.
Oneonta's leading scorer was Eric Bratt, who had eight points. Michael Reardon had seven points.
The Lakers are now 18-5 overall and 11-3 in the SUNYAC. Oneonta fell to 7-16 overall and 2-12 in the conference. Oswego State's next game, Tuesday at Potsdam, will be televised live on Time Warner Sports 26 in central and northern New York.
