The Oswego State men's basketball team defeated Geneseo 66-62 at Max Ziel Gymnasium on Tuesday in a SUNYAC Tournament quarterfinal game. Oswego State, the second seed in the tournament, improved to 20-6 overall this season and will face Plattsburgh in the semifinals at 1 p.m. Friday at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The loss dropped Geneseo to 12-14 on the year.
Oswego State made eight 3-pointers in the game, five of them by freshman guard Kyle Reuter, and Geneseo made just one basket from behind the arc. Reuter (Mexico/Mexico) led all scorers with 21 points in the game. Mat Burridge (Hannibal/Hannibal) added 17 points for the Lakers and Nick Perioli (Liverpool/Liverpool) and Todd Franze each scored 10. Burridge pulled down 13 rebounds for the Lakers.
Geneseo was paced by Scott Morton with 14 points and Tarik Kitson, Greg Spears, and Brian Bennett each had 10 points.
