The Plattsburgh Cardinals rallied from a 10-point deficit in the game's closing minutes and upset second-seeded Oswego State 69-65 in the SUNYAC men's basketball semifinals at the Utica Memorial Auditorium on Friday afternoon.
Two free throws by Todd Franze gave Oswego State a 63-53 lead with 4:40 remaining but the Lakers were outscored 16-2 in the remainder of the game by the sixth-seeded Cardinals who won a quarterfinal game at Brockport on Tuesday. Plattsburgh shot 63 percent from the field in the second half.
Ahmad Mims scored 20 points to lead the Lakers and Mat Burridge added 17 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lakers are now 20-7 on the season.
