The Oswego State field hockey team defeated Morrisville 1-0 on Friday afternoon, Sept. 15, at Laker Field in Oswego.
Junior forward Megan Erlenback (Canastota) scored 15 minutes into the second half for Oswego State and it was the decisive goal. Freshman Ashley Demeo assisted on the tally. The Lakers made the lead stand up and picked up their first win of the year. The Lakers are now 1-5 on the season while Morrisville fell to 1-4.
The Lakers controlled possession for most of the game and earned 17 penalty corners. Oswego State outshot the Mustangs 32-3. Morrisville goalie Stephanie Smith made 17 saves, and Oswego State goalkeeper Kaitlin Daniels had one save.
Oswego State returns to action Wednesday by hosting Cortland in a SUNYAC contest. The game begins at 4 p.m.
