The Oswego State women's soccer team began its season by dropping a pair of games at the Erinn K. Brozman Memorial Cup hosted by Hartwick College at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Oneonta.
In the first game, Oswego State was beaten 3-0 by Ithaca. The Lakers managed just one shot on goal in the match, and Oswego State goalkeeper Melissa Hacknauer made seven saves.
The second game of the tournament pitted Oswego State against the host Hartwick Hawks and a second-half goal by Jen Vandenburg gave Hartwick the victory. Hacknauer made three saves in the game, and the Lakers fired nine shots on the Hartwick net.
