Women's Ice Hockey

Lakers tie Chatham 2-2

The Oswego State women's ice hockey team tied Chatham 2-2 on Sunday afternoon.

Oswego State trailed 1-0 and 2-1 in the game, and rallied for the tie with a late goal. The Lakers are 6-6-2 overall and 2-5-2 in the ECAC Women's West.

Jessica Lister opened the scoring for Oswego State with a power-play goal assisted by Angie Friesen and Stephanie Esposito. That goal, which came with 9:12 remaining, tied the score 1-1. Chatham went back in front shortly after, but Oswego State scored the game-tying goal with 2:38 left to play. Aprilyn Gush scored the goal on an assist from Kendra Lemire. Neither team scored in overtime and the game finished tied.

Hilary Hitchman made 25 saves for the Lakers.

Oswego State returns to the Campus Center Ice Arena on Jan. 28-29 for a pair of games against St. Olaf College.
