Oswego State returned to SUNYAC play and defeated Brockport 6-0, as sophomore center
Brendan McLaughlin factored in all six goals with three goals and three assists.
Goalie Ryan Scott made 19 saves to earn his second shutout of the year and the fifth of his career, as the No. 2-ranked Lakers improved to 15-1-3 overall and remained in first place in the SUNYAC with a 6-0-2 conference mark.
Laker captain Ryan Woodward opened the scoring when he redirected a Peter Magagna pass into the net with 5:58 left in the first period. Magagna then scored on a rebound while Oswego State was on the power play in the second period to put the Lakers up 2-0. McLaughlin scored another PPG for the Lakers with 1:04 left in the second.
Oswego State added three goals in the third period, as McLaughlin completed his hat trick and C.J. Thompson also scored.
Brockport goalie Todd Sheridan had 37 saves in the game.
The Lakers host Geneseo on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Campus Center Ice Arena in a matchup of the top two teams in the conference.
