The Oswego State women's soccer team scored twice in a span of 40 seconds to defeat visiting Cazenovia on Tuesday afternoon at Laker Field in Oswego.
The Lakers are now 5-6-1 on the season while Cazenovia fell to 3-7-2.
Oswego State outshot Cazenovia 19-0 in a scoreless first half, and Cazenovia goalkeeper Kaila Buffis made nine saves in the first 45 minutes.
The Lakers broke through with two goals in the 52nd minute. The first goal followed a sharp passing play in which Oswego State's Mary Spuhler passed to Mariana Bartonicek, whose cross was turned in by Tricia Sullivan. It was Sullivan's team-leading seventh goal of the season.
It didn't take long for Oswego State to add to its lead, as Sullivan set up Spuhler who was wide open in front of the net and shot it past Buffis. It was Spuhler's first goal of the season.
Oswego State goalkeeper Toby Klein started the game and Rachel McNamara played the final 12 minutes in net. Cazenovia's Buffis made 13 saves.
The Lakers return to SUNYAC play this weekend with a pair of road games at Geneseo on Friday and at Brockport on Saturday.
