The Oswego State women's basketball team lost 85-70 to Potsdam on Friday night at Ziel Gymnasium. The Lakers are now 3-1 overall and 0-1 in the SUNYAC, while the Bears improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
Potsdam's Courtney Poirier led all scorers with 20 points and made 14 free throws in the game. Teammate Rachel Graf scored 17 and Hannah Fairchild added 14 for the Bears. Kelsey Shoen led Potsdam's rebounders with 11 boards.
Potsdam shot 51 percent from the field in the game, and held Oswego State to 32.4 percent on 24-of-74 shooting in the contest, including just 1-for-17 from behind the 3-point line in the game.
Heather Merino led Oswego State with 16 points, and Sam Driscoll added 13, while Alaina Hannahs scored 11 points.
The Lakers are back in action on Tuesday at home against New York University at 6 p.m.
