The Plattsburgh Cardinals defeated the Oswego State men's ice hockey team 4-1 on Saturday night at the Campus Center Ice Arena in Oswego.

Plattsburgh's T.J. Cooper scored a short-handed goal on a breakaway in the second period to break a 1-1 tie, and the Cardinals added two goals in the final four minutes to seal the victory.

Oswego State's Rich Zalewski scored on a power play in the first period, with assists from Ryan Woodward and Francois Gagnon to account for the Lakers' only tally.

Plattsburgh defenseman Nick Rolls opened the scoring just 2:34 into the game with a point shot through traffic on the power play.

Cardinal goalie Chris Molinaro mad 27 saves in the game, while Ryan Scott stopped 22 shots for the Lakers.

Oswego State lost for the first time in its new arena, and fell to 19-2-3 overall and 10-1-2 in the SUNYAC. Plattsburgh is now 11-7-6 overall and 5-4-4 in the SUNYAC.
