The Oswego State women's basketball team lost the SUNYAC Championship game 59-50 to the top-seeded Cortland on Saturday afternoon in Cortland.

Seniors Lyndsey Marquit (18 points) and Kelly Mraz (13) led the way for the Lakers, and classmate Jessica Tremblay had 12 rebounds.

The Lakers led by 10 points late in the first half and held a 31-24 advantage at halftime. Cortland's defense controlled things in the second half, allowing just five Oswego State baskets in the final 20 minutes on 28 field-goal attempts. The Lakers shot just 25 percent from the floor.

Mraz and Marquit were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Oswego State is 19-8 overall and awaits word on a potential post-season berth, which will be announced early this week.
