The Oswego State women's basketball team overcame a 10-point deficit in the second half and defeated visiting New Paltz 71-59 on Wednesday at Max Ziel Gymnasium in an ECAC Upstate Tournament game.
The third-seeded Lakers will advance to this weekend's semifinals in Brockport. Samantha Driscoll scored 18 points to lead the Lakers and Lyndsey Marquit added 16. Heather Merino scored 10 for Oswego State.
Chelsea Clarke led New Paltz with 18 points.
The Lakers are now 20-8 on the season, and will take on second-seeded Brockport at Brockport on Friday at 6 p.m. The Golden Eagles are the highest remaining seed after eighth-seed Rensselaer beat top-seeded Elmira in another quarterfinal. Rensselaer will face William Smith at 8 p.m., as William Smith defeated Utica College in the other quarterfinal game.
Saturday's championship will be at 2 p.m. at Brockport.
