Lakers win 2-1 at Buffalo State

The Oswego State men's ice hockey team remained unbeaten in SUNYAC play with a 2-1 win at Buffalo State on Saturday.

The Lakers fell behind 1-0 in the first minute of the second period, when the Bengals cashed in a power-play goal.

Oswego State's Ryan Ellis answered five minutes later, with assists going to Brendan McLaughlin and Rich Zalewski. The game-winning goal came on a power play, as Peter Magagna scored his seventh goal of the season, with Ellis and McLaughlin assisting. The Lakers finished the game 1-for-13 on the power play, and the host Bengals were 1-for-8 on the man advantage.

Ryan Scott made 29 saves for the Lakers and Sean Sheehan stopped 36 shots for Buffalo State.

Oswego State is 18-1-3 overall, and 9-0-2 in the SUNYAC. The Lakers will close the regular season with three home games, beginning Friday and Saturday against Potsdam and Plattsburgh at the Campus Center Ice Arena.
