Lakers lose to Geneseo

The Oswego State women's basketball team lost 82-72 to Geneseo at Max Ziel Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

Samantha Driscoll made four 3-pointers in the game and added a pair of free throws to finish as Oswego State's leading scorer with 14 points. Jessica Tremblay had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Kelly Mraz (11 points) and Alaina Hannahs (10) also scored in double figures for Oswego State, and Hannahs had nine assists.

Geneseo also had four players score in double digits, led by Annie Verdino with 17 points, and Katy Irving with 16 points. Amanda Haney (14) and Bridget Riley (10) also contributed. The Knights built a 35-27 halftime lead.

The victory by Geneseo pulled the Knights into a tie with Oswego State in the SUNYAC standings as both teams are 7-5 in the conference. Geneseo is 12-9 overall and Oswego State is 13-7.

The Lakers host New Paltz on Friday and Oneonta on Saturday afternoon, and the Oswego State Student-Athlete Advisory Council will be conducting a food drive at both games.
