Close win for Oswego State

The Oswego State men's basketball team defeated New Paltz 92-87 on Friday night in Oswego.

Mat Burridge led Oswego State with 19 points and 15 rebounds, and Erik Roberson had 17 points and made a clutch 3-pointer with 4:12 remaining to give the Lakers a 78-75 lead. The Lakers led the rest of the way and improved their record to 12-10 overall and 8-5 in the SUNYAC.

Kyle Reuter also scored 17 points for Oswego State, while Dominick White had 11 and Todd Franze scored 15. The Lakers made seven 3-pointers on the night in 12 attempts from behind the arc.

Five players scored in double-figures for New Paltz, paced by 28 points from John Hauser. Tony Cannon and Amseshem Foluke had 16 points each. Matt Irwin scored 11 and Matt Hauser scored 10.

Oswego State hosts Oneonta at 4 p.m. Saturday at Max Ziel Gymnasium. Fans will be granted free admission if they make a donation to the Student-Athlete Advisory Council food drive, which benefits local charities.
