The Oswego State women's basketball team defeated visting New Paltz 74-60 on Friday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium.
Alaina Hannahs had 15 points to lead Oswego State, and Jessica Tremblay added 12 points. The Lakers had 12 steals in the game including four by Kelly Mraz and three by Lacey Kimpland. Kimpland also scored 10 points on the night.
Oswego State improved to 8-5 in the SUNYAC and 14-7 overall, while New Paltz fell to 7-5, one-half game behind the Lakers in the conference standings.
Maggie Farrell scored 18 points for the Hawks to lead all scorers. Kerri Kelty added 10.
The Lakers return to action on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Oneonta. Any fan bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to the Student-Athlete Advisory Council Food Drive will be admitted free of charge.
