The Oswego State field hockey team lost 5-0 at Utica College on Wednesday afternoon. The Lakers are now 1-8 on the season.
The host Pioneers scored three first-half goals in the win. Tiffany Bichrest opened the scoring just 2:57 into the contest and teammate Laurie Calvasina scored at 4:50. Calvasina finished the game with three goals and an assist, and Kim Martin scored the other goal for the Pioneers.
Laker goalie Jamie Scharfe had eight saves in the game and Eileen O'Neill and Kimm Hiffa each had two shots on goal.
Oswego State hosts Geneseo Saturday at 1 p.m. at Laker Field.
