The Oswego State field hockey team lost 3-1 to Geneseo on Saturday at Laker Field.
The visiting Blue Knights took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Michelle Milkovich scored in the eighth minute on an assist from Erin Zalewski.
The Knights then scored a pair of second-half goals off of penalty corners to build the lead to 3-0. Milkovich scored on an assist from Jean Nolan early in the second half and Kristen Paczkowski scored on an assist from Sarah Doster in the 51st minute.
The Lakers got on the board on a nice shot by Sara Budde, who shot from distance and beat Geneseo goalkeeper Emily O'Leary. It was the first collegiate goal for Budde. O'Leary finished the game with four saves. Oswego State goalkeeper Jamie Scharfe also had four saves.
Oswego State is now 1-9 overall and 1-3 in the SUNYAC, while Geneseo improved its record to 4-6 and 3-1 in the SUNYAC.
The Lakers return to action Thursday at Brockport.
