The Oswego State women's basketball team lost 65-61 to Oneonta on Saturday afternoon at Max Ziel Gymnasium in Oswego.
The Lakers trailed by 15 points with eight minutes remaining in the game, and managed to whittle the Red Dragons' lead to just three points in the closing seconds, but lost the game.
Oneonta is now 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the SUNYAC, while Oswego State fell to 5-6 on the season and 1-3 in the conference.
The Lakers were led by Sam Driscoll, who scored a team-high 16 points. Sarah Lombard added 12 and Traci Bacon scored 11 for the Lakers. Colleen McCready had seven rebounds for Oswego State.
The Red Dragons were paced by 14 points and eight rebounds from sara Chrystie. Amanda McDowell scored 13 and Shannon Weir added 10. Oneonta made its first 18 free-throw attempts in the contest, and finished the game 27-for-39 at the line.
Oswego State returns to action on Friday at Brockport.
