The Oswego State men's basketball team lost 90-76 to Brockport on Friday night at Tuttle North Gymnasium in Brockport.
The Golden Eagles won their 16th straight regular season conference game on the strength of their rebounding. Brockport converted 25 offensive rebounds into 33 second-chance points and out-rebounded the Lakers 52-35 for the game. Senior forward Brandon Williams led Brockport with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lakers put three scorers in double-figures, all led by junior guard Tommy Downing with 18 points and six assists. Sophomore Mahamoud Jabbi chipped in with 12 points while senior co-captain Dom White shot 5-of-7 from the field to finish with 10 points.
Brockport improved their record to 8-5 with the win, they are 4-0 in SUNYAC play. Other than last season's SUNYAC championship game, Brockport hasn't lost a conference game since a 102-89 loss at Oswego State on Jan. 16, 2007. They'll look to extend that streak Saturday night at 8 p.m. against Morrisville.
The Lakers fell to 8-4 with the loss, 3-2 in conference play. They return to action Saturday afternoon at Geneseo. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
