The Oswego State field hockey team scored a decisive 6-0 victory over Wells College in their final home game of the season Wednesday afternoon at Laker Field. Freshman
Katie Mazuchowski (Tonawanda/Sweet Home) tallied three goals, including the game winner in the game's 14th minute. Sophomore
Sara Budde (Appleton/Barker) found the back of the net twice and assisted on one of Mazuchowski's markers.
Freshman Kelsey Moran (Syracuse/New York Mills) earned her first collegiate points when she scored Oswego State's second goal in the 23rd minute. The Lakers took a 2-0 lead into halftime before unloading a barrage of goals in the second. Sophomore Jamie Scharfe (Webster/Webster Schroeder) stopped nine shots in goal and combined with freshman Erica Lemke (Holland) to earn the Lakers their first shutout win since Sept. 15, 2007.
Wells College fell to 3-10 with the loss, they have dropped 10 staright games after starting the season 3-0. The Lakers imropoved to 4-11 heading into their final game Saturday at Ithaca College.
