Francois' 26-point, 26-rebound effort leads Lakers to 76-61 win over Morrisville

Junior forward Stanley Francois (Valley Cottage/ SUNY Cobleskill) recorded a "double-double" with game highs of 26 points and 26 rebounds, shooting 11-for-16 from the field, in a 76-61 Oswego State victory over Morrisville State in a SUNYAC men's contest on Saturday Dec. 6 at Max Ziel Gymnasium.

Francois' 26 rebounds was the fourth best single-game performance in school history and is the first player in 41 years to record 24 or more rebounds in a game.

Three other players reached double figures in points for the Lakers (4-1 overall, 1-1 SUNYAC), including senior guard Tommy Downing (Staten Island/ Curtis), who also posted a "double-double" with 15 points and 10 assists, going 3-for-5 from three-point range. Freshmen forward Chad Burridge (Hannibal) added 14 points and four rebounds, and senior guard Kyle Reuter (Mexico) contributed 11 points and three steals while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.

Freshmen guard Elonzo Wilson (Syracuse/Fowler) lead the Mustangs (0-5, 0-2 SUNYAC) with 16 points shooting a perfect 10-for-10 from the foul line. Freshmen guard Kyle Gordon (Riverhead) registered a "double-double" with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Oswego held a 38-29 lead at the half as Francois (15 rebounds) and Burridge scored 11 points each. The Lakers increased their lead to 16 points (56-40) with 9:45 to play and were never threatened for the remainder of the game. Francois finished with 15 second half points hitting seven of 11 shots from the floor and pulling down 11 rebounds.

Oswego completes their fall semester schedule on the road against Nazareth College on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.
