The Oswego State women's basketball team lost 72-56 to Cortland on Tuesday night at Cortland in a SUNY Athletic Conference quarterfinal game.

The Lakers built an early lead and stretched the margin as high as seven points through the first 10 minutes of the game, but the Red Dragons closed the first half with a 25-4 run and held a 14-point halftime lead at 37-23.

Oswego State was led in scoring by Sam Driscoll with 14 points and Sarah Lombard added 11. Heather Merino added 10 points for the Lakers. Oswego State shot just 30.8 percent from the field.

The Lakers have a 14-11 record and will await word on a potential postseason berth.
