Lakers drop 5-0 decision to nationally-ranked Hamilton

The Oswego State women's soccer team suffered its second straight shutout loss of the season in a 5-0 setback to host Hamilton College on Saturday, September 13 in Clinton, NY.

The Continentals (4-0), ranked 24th among NCAA Division III teams in the latest rankings conducted by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), extended their unbeaten streak to 19 games and are 18-0-1 in their last 19 games at home.

Hamilton, who outshot the Lakers (2-2), 30-6, and held an 8-3 edge in corner kicks, scored twice in the first half, including the game's opening goal at the 9:30 mark and tacked on three goals in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Sophomore goalie Toby Klein (Westbury/W.T. Clarke) faced 16 shots and made 12 saves in 75:40 played for Oswego.  Sophomore Lauren Harsma (Syracuse/West Genesee) came in to play the final 14:20, yielding the game's final goal and making a save.

The Lakers are Idle until Saturday, Sept. 20, when they return to Laker Field to face defending SUNYAC champion Oneonta State in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
