The Oswego State field hockey team dropped its third straight loss in a five-game road trip, registering a 5-1 defeat to host Nazareth College on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The Lakers (1-5 overall, 1-0 SUNYAC)) were outmatched from the start as the host Golden Flyers (2-2) scored three goals in the opening half and scored two more goals midway into the second half. Nazareth held a 34-7 advantage in shots and were 21-7 in penalty corners.
The lone goal for Oswego came with 9:19 to play in the game as junior Hannah Chevalier (Williston, VT/Champlain Valley Union) scored her first collegiate goal off a pass from freshman Kelly Collins (Fairport). Sophomore goalie Jamie Scharfe (Webster/Webster Schroeder) made 15 saves.
The Lakers will look to remain unbeaten in SUNYAC play this weekend when they travel to Morrisville State for a 1 p.m. showdown.
