The Oswego State women's soccer team produced its second multi-goal performance in as many days in moving past the .500 mark on the season with a 6-0 SUNYAC win over Morrisville State College on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Laker Field.
Five different players tallied scores for the Lakers (4-3, 1-1 SUNYAC), who outshot the Mustangs, 56-0. 29 of those shots came in the opening half as Oswego received goals from freshmen Rachel Allen (Ardsley) at 15:45, assisted by freshman Laura Ambron and Kheetah Koutouan (Cornwall) at 22:30, junior Julie McCloskey (Hopewell Junction/John Jay) at 29:19, and sophomore Mariana Bartonicek (Berne/Berne-Knox-Westerlo) at 40:56 off of a pass from Kelly Morritt (Syosset/Holy Trinity). Bartonicek also registered an assists, contributing on McCloskey's goal.
Oswego added a pair of unassisted scored in the second half from juniors Tricia Sullivan (Copenhagen) at the 47:14 mark and Leah Paige (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) at 56:24. Sophomore goalie Toby Klein was not tested in garnering her first shutout of the season and fourth win on the year.
The Lakers return to Laker Field on Tuesday, Sept. 30 for a non-conference contest with SUNY Cobleskill at 4 p.m.
