Kelly Collins (Fairport) scored a pair of goals while sophomore
Krista Pattemore (Athens, ONT) registered two assists, but host Chatham tallied the game's final two goals, including the game winner in overtime, to come away with a 4-3 decision and a splt of the two-game ECAC Women's West series on Sunday, Jan. 25 in Pittsburgh.
Collins scored the game's opening goal, the only score of the first period, on the power play at 11:35 off of a pass from senior Kendall Hanley (Raleigh, NC). The opening two goals of the second period also came on the power play as Chatham's Lauren Campbell tied things up 39 seconds into the period, and senior defender Ashley Meyers (Lockport) scored off passes from Pattemore and junior Jenna Kirkwood (Chilliwack, BC) at 5:54 to give the Lakers a 2-1 advantage.
The Cougars tied the at the 16:06 mark of the period on a goal from Kelsie LaHue before Oswego took its third and final lead at 5:38 of the third period on Collins' second goal, assisted by junior Angie Friesen (Chilliwack, BC) and Pattemore. Chatham sent the game into overtime as Campbell tallied her second power-play goal, unassisted with 3:25 remaining in regulation. Sarah Forbes scored the winning goal, also unassisted, 3:46 into the extra session.
The Lakers held a 51-25 shots on goal advantage, with junior goalkeeper Erin Robson (Orillia, ONT) making 21 saves in picking up the loss.
