Three first half goals helped the Oswego State field hockey team defeat SUNYAC opponent Morrisville 4-0 on Saturday in Morrisville. Katie Mazuchowski (So., Tonawanda, N.Y.) netted two of the four goals, while Alyssa Hare (Fr., Middleport, N.Y.) registered a pair of assists. The Lakers moved to 4-6 overall and 2-2 in league play, while the Mustangs fell to 5-10 overall and 1-5 in the SUNYAC.

Mazuchowksi recorded her first goal of the contest in the 15th minute with Hare earning an assist.  Oswego State quickly followed up with its second goal at the 20:30 mark when Michelle Ruskey (Fr., Deerfield, N.Y.) got the ball past Mustang goalie Kelsey Pellegrino.  Hannah Chevalier (Sr., Williston, Vt.) picked up an assist on the goal.  The Lakers took a commanding 3-0 lead in the 29th minute after a Taylor Stein (Fr., Endwell, N.Y.) goal with Kelly Collins (So., Fairport, N.Y.) being credited with the assist.

Oswego State scored its final goal in the 44th minute as Hare found Mazuchowksi for the her second goal of the game. 

The Lakers outshot Morrisville 20-8 as Jamie Scharfe (Jr., Webster, N.Y.) and Leigh Rusyn (Fr., Liverpool, N.Y.) combined for four saves and the shutout.

Oswego State returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 14 against Elmira at 4 p.m. at home as four of the remaining six games are in Oswego.
