Emi Williams (Jr., Anchorage, Alaska) recorded her first shutout of the season by posting 21 saves. The Lakers improved to 4-3-0 overall and 3-3-0 in ECAC West competition, while the Bengals dropped to 2-5-0 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
After a scoreless first period, Lemire scored the eventual game-winner 1:22 into the second period after receiving a pass from Karly Armstrong (Sr., Sudbury, Ont.) and Meagan Big Snake (Jr., Siksika, Alberta). Oswego State took a two-goal lead midway through the frame when Lemire posted her second goal of the game at the 11:29 mark with assists being credited to Armstrong and Angie Friesen (Sr., Chilliwack, B.C.).
Sophomore forward Kelly Collins (Fairport, N.Y.) continued to play well in the weekend series as she recorded her second goal of the weekend at 2:42 in the third period to give the Lakers a commanding 3-0 lead. Lauren Gilpin (So., Georgetown, Ont.) and Breanne Reith (Fr., East St. Paul, Manitoba) earned assists on the play.
Neither team was able to capitalize on power play opportunities as each team went 0-for-5. Oswego State's Emi Williams compiled 11 of her 21 saves in the first period as she improved to 4-3-0 on the year. Buffalo State goaltender Alyssa Koniar stopped 30 of the 33 shots she faced to move to 1-3-0.
The Lakers return to the ice on Friday, December 4 when they begin a two-game series at Sacred Heart.
