The Oswego State men's ice hockey team recorded three power play and three shorthanded goals in a 10-1 win over visiting Brockport on Friday night in Oswego. Neil Musselwhite (Sr., Burlington, Ont.) registered all three shorthanded goals en route to a four-goal night for the Lakers, while Chris Laganiere (Jr., Owego, N.Y.) was the only other multi-goal scorer with two goals. Oswego State goaltender Kyle Gunn-Taylor (Sr., West Seneca, N.Y.) made 14 saves, while Golden Eagle netminders Todd Sheridan and Josh Roarke combined to stop 27 shots.

After Brockport's Sean O'Malley scored the first goal of the game on a power play at 3:16 in the first period, it was all Lakers from that point forward.  Chris Laganiere tallied his 10th and 11th goals of the season in a two-minute span to give Oswego State a 2-1 edge at the 8:24 mark.  Justin Fox (Jr., Whitby, Ont.) earned assists on both goals, while Eric Selleck (So., Spencerville, Ont.) was also credited with an assist on the second score.  Before the period was over, Neil Musselwhite tallied his first goal of the game at 12:51 after receiving a pass from Brad Dormiedy (Sr., Ajax, Ont.) for a 3-1 lead heading into the first intermission.

Selleck netted his eighth goal of the season on a power play midway through the second period to make the score 4-1.  It was Musselwhite, though, that stole the show before the second intermission as he completed his hat trick in the final minute with a pair of shorthanded goals separated by 11 seconds.  The Lakers took a commanding 6-1 lead into the locker room.

Oswego State was whistled for a tripping penalty early in the last period giving the Golden Eagles a chance to get back into the game, but Musselwhite added his third shorthanded goal of the game to put the Lakers ahead 7-1.  Oswego State later received goals from Chris Muise (Fr., Oakville, Ont.), who scored his first collegiate goal, Luke Moodie (Fr., Burlington, Ont.), and Tyler Lyon (Sr., Foxboro, Ont.) to make the final score 10-1.

The Lakers finished the night 3-for-9 on the power play, while scoring three shorthanded goals on eight penalties.  Gunn-Taylor improved to 6-0-0 for Oswego State as he made 10 of his 14 saves in the third period.  Todd Sheridan compiled 19 saves in 48:56 for Brockport, while Josh Roarke made eight saves in the final 11:04.

The Lakers, who improved to 9-1-0 overall and 7-0-0 in the conference, will face Geneseo on Saturday night at 7 p.m., while Brockport, which is 4-6 overall and 2-5 in the SUNYAC, travels to Cortland for 7 p.m. contest.
