Lozzi does it all in 3-1 win over Morrisville

Senior defenseman Mark Lozzi (Richmond Hill, ONT/St. Michael's Buzzers) had a hand in all of the scoring for visiting Oswego State, scoring a pair of goals and adding an assists, to lead the Lakers to  a 3-1 victory over Morrisville State in a SUNYAC contest on Friday, Feb. 6 at the Morrisville IcePlex. The win was the seventh in a row and eighth in the last nine games for Oswego (15-5-1, 9-2 1 SUNYAC), who trail league leader Plattsburgh State by only four points in the standings.

Lozzi assisted on the game's opening goal as classmate Derrell Levy (Markham, ONT/Markham Waxers) scored his third goal of the season short handed at the 5:44 mark. The Mustangs tied the score on a goal from Bobby Cass at 12:21, but Oswego would open the second period with the game-winning goal from Lozzi at the 4:10 mark, with senior Garren Reisweber (Williamsville/Buffalo Lightning) and Levy picking up assists. Lozzi would add his second goal of the game, his 12th of the season at the 5:10 mark of the third period off of a pass from senior Peter Magagna (Orangeville, ONT/Wellington Dukes).

The Lakers outshot Morrisville, 38-28, with junior goalie Tim Potter (Bakersfield, CA/Clarkson University) stopping 28 shots in remaining unbeaten on the season with a 7-0-0 mark.  Oswego will continue its road swing on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14 when they travel to The College at Brockport and SUNY Geneseo, respectively. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m. starts.
