Box Score
The Oswego State women's soccer team was shut out for the first time this season in a 2-0 road loss to Cortland on Saturday. Bridgette DeSantis scored both goals for the Red Dragons with assists coming from Casey Reinhardt on each score.
The Lakers fell to 3-3-0 overall and 0-1-0 in SUNYAC play, while Cortland remained undefeated at 7-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in the league.
DeSantis put the Red Dragons on the board in the 32nd minute after she beat Oswego State goalkeeper Christina Fregosi (Fr., Massapequa, N.Y.) to a through ball from Reinhardt. The ensuing shot went just inside the right post to give Cortland a 1-0 lead, which was where the score remained at the intermission.
The Red Dragons went ahead 2-0 at the 64:18 mark when DeSantis again found the inside right post following a chipped pass from Reinhardt into the box.
Head coach Brian McGrane's squad outshot Cortland by a slim 12-11 margin, but goalkeeper Pam Monnier stopped all three shots that got through the defense to post the shutout. Fregosi finished the game with two saves.
The Lakers continue their current five-game road trip on Tuesday against SUNY-Cobleskill at 4 p.m.
