The Oswego State men's basketball team got back into the win column after defeating Fredonia 59-50 on Saturday afternoon at Max Ziel Gymnasium. The Laker defense limited the Blue Devils to 16 first-half points to help the offense overcome 34.6 percent shooting from the floor in the frame. Three Oswego State players reached double figures, including Chad Burridge, Hayden Ward, and Jose Uribe with 16, 11, and 10 points, respectively.

With the score tied at 11-11 and 9:05 remaining on the game clock, the Lakers assembled a 15-3 run capped off by four free throws by Mike McSloy (So., Kings Park, N.Y.) over the next eight minutes for a 12-point point advantage.  Fredonia sank a pair of free throws in the waning moments of the first half to make the score 26-16 in favor of Oswego State.

The 10-margin stood with 13:23 left to play when the Lakers went on another large 10-1 run with buckets from five different players to put the game out of reach.  The Blue Devils made a late charge in the final four minutes to make it a nine-point Oswego State victory.

The Lakers, who moved to 8-6 overall and 3-5 in the SUNYAC, will host New Paltz on Tuesday night at 8 p.m.  Fredonia will host Geneseo on Tuesday.
