Box Score

The Oswego State men's basketball team broke back into the win column in a big way with a 97-49 victory against non-conference Morrisville on Sunday afternoon. The Lakers went on a 19-2 run midway through the first half to take a 54-26 lead at halftime, and continued to build on their advantage in the second half. Stanley Francois led the Oswego State offensive attack with 15 points, while Chad Burridge recorded his seventh double-double of the season scoring 14 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

The Lakers, who improved to 10-10 overall, will host Plattsburgh on Friday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. in the first game of their final homestand of the regular season.  The Mustangs fell to 6-13 overall.

Oswego State held a six-point advantage near the midway point of the first half, but went on a 19-2 run over the next six minutes to take a 40-17 lead.  Burridge closed out the stretch for the Lakers with seven of his 14 points.  Coach Adam Stockwell's squad continued to extend its margin as Chris Gilkes completed an old-fashioned three-point play at the end of the half for 54-26 lead.

The Laker offense kept on clicking in the second half as the lead ballooned to 77-36 after another 17-1 stretch en route to the victory.  Oswego State's defense was a key factor in the offense's success, as the Lakers turned 23 Mustang turnovers into 30 points.  Oswego State also played unselfish basketball after compiling 23 assists on 34 field goals.

Mike McSloy and Conor Monaghan joined Francois and Burridge in double-digits with 12 and 11 points, respectively.  Morrisville was paced by Bryan Eddy and Brandon Henry, who scored 10 points each.
