The Oswego State women's basketball team struggled to score in the second half on Friday night, as it fell to the Buffalo State Bengals 69-48 in Max Ziel Gymnasium. Lauren Nunziato and Colleen McCready were the only Lakers in double-digits with 10 points apiece. The loss dropped Oswego State to 7-10 overall and 4-6 in the SUNYAC. Buffalo State improved to 10-6 overall and 5-5 in conference play.

Oswego State began the game on an 8-0 run, not allowing the Bengals on the scoreboard for over five minutes.  The Bengals fought back behind 10 first-half points from Barb Kiliszek. She also tallied five steals to power the comeback effort. An offensive rebound and layup by Sarah Thompson gave Buffalo State a 34-33 edge at halftime.

The Lakers were within five after Meagan Stover hit a free throw with 11 minutes remaining, but Buffalo State went on a 23-7 run to close the game. Kiliszek had 12 points during the run and finished the game with 26 points and seven steals.

Oswego State shot just 5-of-26 in the second half (19.2 percent) and missed all six attempts from behind the arc. The Lakers were also out-rebounded 28-16 in the stanza.

The Lakers look to rebound when they host Fredonia on Saturday at 4 p.m.
