The Oswego State field hockey team (5-8) continued its winning ways as it recorded a 2-0 win at Wells College (3-8) on Thursday. The Lakers pushed their current winning streak to three games, outscoring their opponents 10-5 during the three game streak. Alyssa Hare and Jordan McGuire notched the goals for the visitors, while goalkeeper Julie Janusz recorded her third shutout of the season. 

Oswego State rode the momentum from the two previous victories into the start of the game. The Lakers came out of the gate flying as they pounced on the Express defense, recording three penalty corners in the opening five minutes of play. Oswego State broke through the defense as it took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute when Alyssa Hare converted on a loose ball rebound at the near post for the lead.

The second half began at a much slower pace than the opening stanza, but the Lakers continued their offensive press even though they were unable to beat Wells goalie Amanda Catalano. Oswego State doubled its lead in the 59th minute off a scramble in front of the net as Jordan McGuire posted her first marker of the season. 

The Laker defense stood tall for the remaining minutes as they managed to shut the door on the home side. Julie Janusz recorded five saves in the game as she earned her fifth victory of the season. 

Oswego State looks to add to its winning streak as it hosts Keystone College on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
