OSWEGO, N.Y. - Senior Michelle Ruskey (Deerfield, N.Y.) tallied the lone goal of the game in the sixth minute to help the Oswego State field hockey team (4-10, 2-4 SUNYAC) send its six seniors out in style with a 1-0 win over Brockport (6-6, 2-4 SUNYAC) on Saturday.

Ruskey's shot was the first of the game after she found a way to put her stick on a pass in front of the net from classmate Alyssa Hare (Middleport, N.Y.) at the 5:46 mark. For the remainder of the first half, each team moved the ball up and down the field, but without any additional scoring.

The second half continued much of the same way until Brockport began to control possession in the late stages of the frame. The Golden Eagles threatened in the Oswego State end for the final ten minutes, but the defense stood firm to preserve the shutout victory.

Laker goalie Grace Lombardi (Fr., Ossining, N.Y.) posted two saves for her second shutout of the season. Brockport keeper Kasey Schreiner compiled three stops.

Before the game, Oswego State recognized its six seniors, Kelly Blair, Aislinn Breslin, Jess Felice, Alyssa Hare, Michelle Ruskey, and Taylor Stein.

The Lakers travel to Nazareth on Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. tilt versus the Golden Flyers.
