Women's Soccer's Comeback Falls Short in SUNYAC Championship

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The No. 5 Oswego State women's soccer team fell 2-1 at No. 4 The College at Brockport in the play-in game of the SUNYAC Championship. Oswego finishes the season with a 10-7 overall record.

Trailing 1-0 after a Golden Eagles' goal in the 55th minute, the Lakers knotted the score at 1-1 with just under five minutes remaining. Georgia Traynor took a corner kick and put it on the far post for teammate Tia Segretto. Segretto capitalized by putting her shot in the top left corner of the net.

Oswego's comeback was spoiled less than a minute later as Brockport tallied the eventual game-winner in the 86th minute.

Alyssa Glasshagel played in net for the Lakers, stopping four shots in the afternoon contest. Oswego outshot the Golden Eagles 15-9 in the game.

The appearance was the Lakers' first in the SUNYAC Championship since 2002.
