FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie at Fredonia on Friday afternoon. It is the Lakers' third-straight game going into double overtime and the fourth double overtime game in five SUNYAC contests this season. Oswego remains without a blemish in conference play, moving to 2-0-3, making the squad 5-4-3 overall. Fredonia goes to 5-5-0 on the year and 2-1-1 in SUNYAC action with the stalemate.
After going scoreless in the first half, both teams would register a goal in the second period, with Oswego striking first. At 56:36,
Georgia Traynor took a corner for the Lakers, sending it into the box. Oswego put pressure on the Blue Devils, forcing a Fredonia player to record an own goal for a 1-0 advantage.
The lead would not last for long as Katie Kleine found sister Kristie Kleine for a Fredonia goal at 60:40 to knot the score at 1-1.
Alyssa Glasshagel was able to keep the Blue Devils off the scoreboard the rest of the way, finishing with eight saves 110 minutes for Oswego.
The Lakers outshot Fredonia 21-15 and held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks during the contest.
Oswego will look to grab a win at 1 p.m. on Saturday as it travels to face conference-foe Buffalo State.
