Weekends Arrives as Postseason Push is Upon Oswego Athletics

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Oswego State athletics has an important weekend ahead as nine teams are in action. Many of those teams have pivotal contests as the road to obtain a spot in postseason tournaments nears.

Women's and men's ice hockey will start off the weekend, as each have games at 7 p.m. on Friday night. Both squads are on the road, with the women taking on Cortland on Friday and again at 2 p.m. on Saturday in ECAC West battles. The men face Morrisville in SUNYAC tilts on Friday and Saturday, both with the same 7 p.m. faceoff time.

Currently the women are tied for third place with 13 points with Potsdam in the ECAC West standings. The ECAC West Championship takes the conference's top six teams.

Oswego's men are in fourth place of the SUNYAC standings as its conference tournament also takes the top six teams. The Lakers will be fighting over the last few weeks of the season to try and move to the No. 2 seed, which carries a bye in the first round of the SUNYAC Championship.
