CANTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team lost a 5-1 contest against St. Lawrence University on the road Wednesday afternoon. With the defeat, Oswego drops to 2-3 while the Saints improve to 5-2.

St. Lawrence started the match with a score in the opening minutes of play. Oswego senior Bri Dolan answered back with a goal coming off a penalty kick, knotting the game at 1-1.

Despite Oswego's attempt to dismantle the Saints momentum, St. Lawrence was able to add three goals before the half, heading to the locker room with a 4-1 advantage. The Saints added an insurance goal in the second period.

Melissa Siegfried earned the start between the pipes for Oswego, making three saves throughout the contest.

The Lakers will be back in action again at 4 p.m. on Friday when they host Clarkson University in a nonconference contest.
