Men's Basketball

Nine Teams in Action; Women's Hockey at Home

OSWEGO, N.Y. – It's a fully slated weekend in Laker athletics, with eight teams going on the road this weekend and women's ice hockey as the sole team playing at home.

Women's ice hockey will host conference foe Chatham in a two-game home series with the first game starting at 7 p.m. on Friday and the second on the following day at 3 p.m. The squad is currently on a seven game win streak and has won its last four ECAC West matchups.

Men's ice hockey hits the road for an away bout against the Elmira College Soaring Eagles. The game begins at 7 p.m. on Friday. The nationally-ranked Lakers will look to bounce back after a loss to Southern New Hampshire University last Sunday.

Traveling north will be the men's basketball team as it heads to Plattsburgh for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off on Friday. The team will resume play the following day at 2 p.m. against Potsdam. Oswego currently sits at the top of the pack in the SUNYAC going a perfect 5-0 in conference play so far.

Also heading to Plattsburgh is the women's basketball team, who will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The team will then head to Potsdam for a 4 p.m. game against the Bears. The Lakers are looking to build upon their conference win against Brockport on Tuesday.

Both men's and women's track and field kick off their indoor seasons as they travel to Rochester for the RIT Invite. The meet begins at 11 a.m. with events spanning the entire day.

The swimming and diving teams will also be participating in their first events of the New Year, as they head to Buffalo State to take on the Bengals in a 1 p.m. meet.

Wrestling will be on the road as well, heading to Oneonta for the ECWC Championships. The meet will begin 10 a.m on Saturday.
