Oswego, N.Y. – The Oswego State woman's basketball team fell 81-62 to Cortland on the road this evening. The loss puts the Lakers at 3-8 overall and 1-3 in SUNYAC. Cortland continues to lead SUNYAC improving to 4-0 in the conference and 9-1 overall on the season.

Oswego started the contest getting on the board first with a layup from freshman Rachel Windhausen before Cortland slowly crept up and pulled away by just nine points after the first half. The Lakers did post an impressive 14 rebounds in the first half. Oswego came out and battled the second half but couldn't gain the upper hand over Cortland.

Junior Heather Herbert had a team high of seven rebounds for Lakers, also tallying ten points and an assist in the contest. The Hilton native started the game with a rebound to get the Lakers on the board first. Freshman Alisha Jacobs led Oswego with 11 points, recorded three rebounds and an assist.

As a unit, the Lakers performed impressively from charity stripe, shooting 78% during the game. Jacobs was 5-for-6 and junior Taylor Sorell was 2-for-2 from the free throw line. Sorell was a solid team player throughout the contest posting two assists and five points overall.

The Laker's continue on the road, traveling to Brockport for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Tuesday.
