ONEONTA, N.Y. – The sixth-seeded Oswego State women's soccer team fell 2-1 in the SUNYAC semifinals to No. 2 Oneonta on the road Wednesday morning. Oswego concludes its season with 9-9-1 overall record, while going 3-5-1 in the conference.

Oneonta struck first as the Red Dragons scored 22:34 into the first half on a shot from the center of the 18-yard box. The Lakers would remain trailing by one going into the intermission.

Entering the second half, Oswego came out with an offensive mindset, searching for the tying goal. The team didn't have to wait long as Bailey Waterbury tallied one just 3:04 in. The senior dribbled the ball down the center of Oswego's offensive half a lobbed a shot towards goal from roughly 30 yards out. Oneonta's goalie could not stop the ball completely as it tipped off of the top of her gloves and rolled into the net, evening the game at one goal a piece.

The tie didn't hold long though, as the Red Dragon's scored just 22 seconds after the restart. Oswego would put forth good pressure in the closing minutes, but it was to no avail as the team eventually fell 2-1.

Melissa Siegfried was in goal for the Lakers, notching seven saves over the 90 minutes.
