ELMIRA, N.Y. – The nationally-ranked Oswego State women's ice hockey team closed out its regular season slate with a 4-0 loss at No. 1 Elmira College on Sunday afternoon. With the defeat, the Lakers finished the regular season with an 18-6-1 mark overall and a 12-5-1 record in ECAC West action. Oswego earns the No. 3 seed for the postseason tournament, and will host No. 6 Cortland at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Marano Campus Center Arena.
Tickets will be available by calling 315-312-3073, by visiting tickets.oswego.edu or by visiting the box office starting at 10 a.m. on Monday. The pricing will remain $4 for adults, $2 for children 5-18 years old and free to students with a valid ID and children under five years of age.
Oswego was able to hold the Soaring Eagles to just one goal over the final two periods after surrendering three tallies in the first 20 minutes. This was a team effort on defense as goalie
Bridget Smith made 31 saves while the Laker penalty kill unit held Elmira scoreless on two opportunities. Oswego was also able to register one more blocked shot than its opponent, with defenders turning away four different attempts.

Olivia Ellis were all able to put three shots on net, but were unable to cash in with a goal. In all, Oswego notched 15 shots on the day, with the others coming from
Andrea Noss (2) and
Rachel Lenard (1).
Elmira remained a perfect 18-0 in conference play after Sunday, earning the No. 1 seed in the ECAC West Championship with 36 points. Plattsburgh claimed the No. 2 seed with 32 points while the Lakers were close behind with 25 points on the year.
