GENEVA, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team defeated William Smith this Saturday afternoon on the road. With the win the team improves to 15-4-1 on the season and 11-3-1 in the SUNYAC. William Smith drops to 2-17-1 overall, 1-11-1 in the conference.
It took the Lakers three periods to really gain its bearings, but once the team settled it was all goals for the Green and Gold. Tied 2-2 with the Herons going into the third, Oswego rallied, scoring four goals to secure a victory. The first one came unassisted from defender
Alyssa Brockmann just 4:15 into the stanza.
Alexa Aramburu joined the goal club next, notching Oswego's fourth goal at 13:10, getting an assist from
Brianna Rice.
Bridget Hamlin added another insurance goal just 26 seconds later beating the goalie off of a pass from
Erika Truschke. The Laker's last goal was scored with 33 seconds left in regulation as
Brennan Butler recorded her second goal of the season, with an assist going to
Monica Patten.
Oswego's first goal was netted by
Brianna Rice just nine seconds into the game. The team's second score was recorded by
Olivia Ellis who scored at the tail end of the second period. At the conclusion of the game, 10 different Lakers had recorded a point.
Tori Trovato got the start in net for Oswego, making 18 saves on the evening.
Women's ice hockey returns to the Marano Campus Center Arena at 3 p.m. on Sunday to finish its home-and-home series with William Smith.
