BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Oswego State softball team dropped a doubleheader to Brockport on the road on Wednesday afternoon. With the pair of losses, Oswego is now 3-13 on the year and 1-9 in SUNYAC play while the Golden Eagles move to 12-12, 4-4.
GAME ONE – Brockport 8, Oswego 4:
After falling behind 4-0 over the first three innings, Oswego rallied to score three in the fourth and fifth innings to make it a one-run deficit. Brockport then scored the game's next four runs before Oswego tallied the final run of the contest in the top of the seventh.
Alexis Nasca had a 2-for-3 outing at the plate, driving in a team-high three runs while walking once as well.
Tori Trovato also had multiple hits in the game, going 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored.
Jessie Terrano and
Dana Taglioni rounded out the group of Lakers with a hit, each finishing with one.
Lisa O'Callaghan started and pitched the full game, taking a loss on eight hits and seven earned runs. The junior struck out two over the seven innings.
GAME TWO – Brockport 8, Oswego 0 (5 INN):
In a mercy-rule shortened loss, Trovato went 2-for-2 from the plate for the second-straight game. Also finishing with hits were Taglioni, Nasca,
Ashley Lyman and
Noelle White.
Alexandria Connelly took the loss in the circle, throwing three innings while surrendering six earned runs. O'Callaghan tossed the final inning, allowing a run on one hit and two walks.
Oswego will return to the field at 3 p.m. on Friday when it travels to Cortland to continue conference action.
