OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's soccer team defeated the Utica College Pioneers by a score of 2-0 at Laker Turf Stadium on Saturday night. The Lakers improve to 3-2-0 on the season with the victory, while Utica falls to 1-4-0.
Sophomore midfielder
Alex Sestak was a spark on offense for the Lakers, scoring both of the team's goals. The first goal came at 31:19 in the first half when
Bernard Osei sent a ball to the top of the box where Sestak was there to hammer it past the goalkeeper. Just twelve minutes later, the same duo struck again when Osei streaked down the right side and sent a cross into Sestak who in-stepped it home.
The goals were the first and second for Sestak on the season, who will look to continue putting the ball in the net with SUNYAC play looming. Osei will look to continue his offensive prowess as well, as the freshman forward now has points in three of the five Oswego contests, and leads the squad with seven points overall.
Goaltender
Todd Lawson has five saves on the evening, increasing his season total to 24 on his way to his first shutout of the season.
Oswego will be back on the field at 7 p.m. on Wednesday when they travel to Alfred University for a matchup with the Saxons.
